TCA welcomes Indeed as new member, advancing equity and inclusion in tech

Tuesday 3 December 2024 – The Tech Council of Australia is excited to announce Indeed, the world’s leading job site, as our newest member. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within Australia’s rapidly evolving tech sector.

Indeed’s joining of the TCA comes at a crucial time, coinciding with the launch of the Technology-Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (T-EDI) Standards at the National Tech Summit. These standards, developed by ProjectF in collaboration with the TCA, represent a groundbreaking initiative to measure and promote workforce diversity in the tech industry.

Championing Diversity in Tech

Laura Ford, Indeed’s Managing Director for Australia, played a pivotal role in the panel discussion at the National Tech Summit that unveiled the T-EDI Standards. Her participation underscores Indeed’s commitment to driving meaningful change in the tech industry’s approach to diversity and inclusion. The T-EDI Standards are set to revolutionise how tech companies approach equity, diversity, and inclusion. By providing a comprehensive framework for measuring these crucial aspects, the standards will enable organisations to benchmark their progress and identify areas for improvement.

Indeed’s Commitment to Inclusion

Indeed’s membership in the TCA aligns perfectly with its longstanding dedication to fostering an inclusive work environment. The company offers a wealth of resources and initiatives aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace, which will now be shared with the broader TCA community. Some of Indeed’s notable initiatives include:

  1. Comprehensive diversity and inclusion resources for job seekers and employers
  1. Inclusive hiring practices and tools to reduce bias in recruitment
  1. Employee resource groups that support underrepresented communities
  1. Partnerships with organisations that promote diversity in tech

Advancing the Australian Tech Ecosystem

The collaboration between Indeed and the TCA is poised to have a significant impact on the Australian tech ecosystem. By leveraging Indeed’s global expertise in job matching and recruitment, combined with its commitment to diversity, the partnership will help address the tech industry’s ongoing challenges in building a more representative workforce.

Looking Ahead: A More Inclusive Future

As the tech industry continues to grow and evolve, the need for diverse perspectives and experiences becomes increasingly critical. As Australia’s tech sector continues to flourish, partnerships like this one between Indeed and the TCA will play a crucial role in ensuring that growth is inclusive and representative of the diverse Australian community.
