SINGAPORE, October 8, 2025 – The Tech Council of Australia (TCA) and SGTech have signed a new partnership and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aimed at deepening collaboration between the technology sectors of Singapore and Australia. This agreement marks a significant milestone in advancing bilateral collaboration between two of  Asia-Pacific’s most open, dynamic, and innovation-driven economies. 

As leading technology industry and trade associations, the TCA and SGTech share an ambitious vision to deepen trade and investment ties, as well as expand on synergies for greater collaboration and tech sector cooperation across the region. 

The signing of the new partnership and MOU took place during Singapore Tech Week, one of  Asia-Pacific’s premier technology events. The event was attended by senior industry leaders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs and innovators from Australia, Singapore and across the APAC region.

The focus areas of collaboration include:

  • Enhancing industry-to-industry collaboration and strengthening industry links in areas such as quantum, artificial intelligence, digital economy and sustainability, skills and talent development, and other areas of mutual interest.  
  • Facilitating commercial opportunities to enhance bilateral technology trade and investment between Australia and Singapore, including through business missions, networking forums, showcases, and other partnership opportunities.  
  • Promoting dialogue and exchanges on regulatory cooperation and policy alignment on digital and technology issues.  


The collaboration between TCA and SGTech supports the  tech sector and industry, builds on the longstanding relationship between Singapore and Australia, complementing broader frameworks such as the Singapore-Australia Digital Economy Agreement (DEA). The TCA–SGTech partnership also provides a new platform for private-sector leadership in shaping the future of tech collaboration across the region.
