The reskilling opportunity for workforce returners

Rob’s background is in customer support. His previous job was working for an internet service provider before taking a seven year break to be a stay-at-home dad. After job hunting for nine months, Rob struggled to find a position until he came across a client support lead position at MaxMine, a technology platform that performs advanced analytics and data science on mining equipment. Rob has been able to transition into a more technical role at MaxMine after upskilling on the job by learning programming skills such as Python. 

“You can teach technical skills. I’m a good example of that – I’ve learned Python for this role. My job is more about that client-first mentality and ability to communicate effectively.”

Rob is grateful that he has been given the opportunity to continuously upskill on the job while still being able to obtain a healthy work life balance. His favourite part of the role is that it continuously challenges him, and he never works on the same problem.
